Reliable Redundancy in Altimeter Solutions

The mechanical standby altimeter is a panel mounted, direct reading altitude indicator. This silent companion provides the pilot with the traditional mechanical display that can be relied on to get home should all else fail.

The instrument’s two (2) aneroid capsules sense the static air pressure external to the aircraft and show the altitude in feet on the counter pointer display. The altimeter is available in in-hg, mBar, or HPA configurations for global flights. The Altimeter is available in configurations that have a range of - 1,000 to 53,000 feet.

Cockpit replaceable lamps provide easy access for replacement of bulbs without disturbing the static pressure system seal. Readability is unaffected by lamp burnout or replacement. The unit can be supplied with NVG compatibility for Aviation Night Vision Imaging System (ANVIS) applications.
Low cost of ownership is enhanced by minimal parts count, high quality components, and emphasis on reliability, maintenance-free performance and ease of repair.

An adjustable barometric pressure compensator with an indication in inches of mercury, millibars or hectopascals is provided. A knob at the lower right hand corner of the case allows the altitude display to be adjusted to the relative setting for the local barometric conditions.

The Mechanical Standby Altimeter from Flightline Systems is certified to FAA TSO-C10b..
